From our editor Caroline Watersgone
We are the mainstream antidote to the Tory press, but we're not as loud as
we should be about it. You won't see us on the top row of any newsagents'
shelves, but that doesn't mean we're not loud. We've been around since
1903.
Triumph for Trump
Trump has won the US election with a massive majority as Kamala Harris
has gone uncharacteristically quiet. Our US Editor Christopher Buttkin
reports. We have not heard from Kamala Harris since she cancelled her
victory rally on the 5th of November. She has not conceded but then
neither did Trump concede, and he hasn't conceded for five years. Kamala
Harris lost a lot of votes in the US and it is not entirely clear what
this is down to. Could it be the Andrew Tate
effect, with influencers becoming more and more relevant in our TikTok
era, or is it a case of just not having a compelling enough message and
not pushing the positives? Maybe it has something to do with the
81-year-old Joe Biden not conceding until July 2024, only giving Kamala
Harris 3 months to develop a campaign for herself. It also didn't help
that Trump had the alt-media on his side with Elon Musk picking up the
batton of hate and running with it.
